April 2017: Unveiling Community Museums and other Culture Promotion Initiatives in the Eastern Region

Uganda Community Museum’s Association (UCOMA), invites the general public to its 3rd Regional Exhibition which will take place from 20th to 21st of April, 2017, at Kigulu Cultural Museum, in Iganga- Nakigo Road. The exhibition will coincide with activities to commemorate the World Heritage Day on 18th April and is intended to:

  1.  expose Community Museums and their role in protecting and promoting the important aspects of our cultural heritage;
  2.  link community museums to the young people
  3.  Highlight the need to promote our cultural heritage as a source of our identity
  4.  link Community Museums to potential sources of support including Tour operators, local governments, CSOs and Cultural Institutions in

Various aspects of our heritage including; our local food staffs, traditional dresses, music  instruments, clan governance systems and household utensils among others will be exhibited by different community museums and other Cultural Heritage promoters in Eastern Uganda.
